Overview

The AL-3018 module is designed to emulate different types of temperature sensors including PT100, PT500, PT1000, but also characteristic curves of various NTC/PTC resistors.

The AL-3018 was designed to be part of ALIAROs portfolio of products for tests of battery management systems (BMS), more specifically, it is critical that a BMS can monitor and control the temperature in a battery pack, since an overheated battery is a safety risk, and the AL-3018 makes it possible to emulate these temperatures in a safe manner.

  • The board contains two (2) isolated banks, each with four (4) channels, so in total eight (8) channels are available.

  • Depending on the voltage potential in the system, the customer can safely use two channels (first in each bank) and leave the other channel(s) unused.

  • The AL-3018 module is designed for the National Instruments (NI) Switch Load Signal Conditioning (SLSC) system, to be used in Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulators.

  • The board interfaces NI PXI and/or Compact-RIO instrumentation devices for the purposes of developing, verifying, and validating electronic control unit software and hardware.

Typical Applications

  • Temperature sensors common within battery management systems.

  • Fault insertion i.e. validation of faulty wiring or corrupt sensors.

Features

  • Two (2) isolated banks with four (4) channels in each bank for resistor emulation.

  • Open wire, short to + and - for each channel.
